Nicolette Axiak is an award-winning animated filmmaker, illustrator and graphic designer from Sydney. She has a sensitivity in her storytelling, exploring patterns in human emotion. Nicolette’s animated films have been nationally and internationally festival screened and nominated for numerous awards; including the 2019 ATOM Award for Best Tertiary Animation in Australia for her graduate film ‘Wither.'

 

Nicolette often works collaboratively with animated filmmaker Jelena Sinik where they have produced various films together including Forever or For Now? and 101 Days of Lockdown, Both of which have won art prizes while on display in galleries around Australia.

They have worked on various award winning shows for Sydney's Vivid Lights Festival including the 2023 Opera House projection; Live Enlivened by John Olsen and 2018's Customs House show; The Adventures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie.
